Clear Lake Dental Implants
It doesn’t matter how many teeth you’ve lost — you can still have a beautiful smile with dental implants!
Are you one of the many adults living in the Clear Lake area who have missing teeth? Missing teeth are a common problem. Approximately 178 million people in the United States have at least one missing tooth. Seven out of 10 adults between the ages of 35 – 44 will experience the loss of at least one tooth to tooth decay, accident or gum disease. By age 74, one out of every four adults will have lost all their permanent teeth.
Bridges and dentures offer only a temporary fix. They need to be replaced every 7 – 15 years. However, dental implants provide a permanent solution to replacing missing teeth!
If you’re looking to replace a missing tooth, or teeth, give Dr. Mauricio Rodriguez DDS of Premier Dental a call. A leading Clear Lake dental implants specialist, Dr. Rodriguez has successfully performed hundreds of procedures on patients in Webster, Friendswood, Seabrook, Texas City, Dickinson and other South Harris County communities. His patients are always amazed at how natural their implants look, feel, and function.

What Are Dental Implants?
Dental implantation is a technique used to replace a missing tooth. It starts with the implantation and fusion of a titanium post into the jaw bone. This post serves as the root for the new tooth. Titanium is the perfect root material; not only is titanium stronger and lighter than steel, it’s also non-toxic and resistant to rust and other corrosion.
Local anesthesia is applied to reduce pain and discomfort during the procedure. After the site heals, the post will continue to massage the bone, decreasing the chances of any bone loss. It usually takes several months for the post to be accepted by the body and secured in its place.
The post has a grooved head to which the abutment is then connected. The abutment holds the crown, or artificial tooth, to the root.
During a final visit, Dr. Rodriguez will place the permanent dental crown (which has been custom-made to look like the patient’s other teeth) to the abutment. This dental crown is positioned for a natural look before being bonded into place. Implant crowns are usually composed of zirconium or porcelain for durability and appearance.
Dental implants can replace a single tooth, multiple teeth or a full upper and/or lower set of teeth (All-On-4).

Dental implants are titanium roots, that are replaced with in the jawbone to resemble a tooth or group of teeth. A screw is inserted through the gums and into the jawbone. A porcelain crown is then attached to the screw to become the new tooth or teeth. They can be used to support dental prosthesis including crowns, dentures, and bridges. Today’s treatments are so natural looking, no one will know you had surgery. There’s approximately a 95% success rate for all implants. With modern advances in dentistry, some implants can be restored immediately with life like all porcelain crowns. For more details ask your dentist.
